"CAPITAL 500" Awards have been given to the owners
At the “Turkey’s 500 Biggest Private Companies” research held by Capital magazine for the 12th time this year, the awards have been given to the 24 leader companies in different categories.

The ceremony had organized by the Borusan Telekom as a main sponsor and started with a song, which was sang by the artist Ayten Alpman and continued with the industry and trade minister Nihat Ergün participating in Ritz Carlton Hotel.

The awards has been given to the companies in 8 categories, were ‘3 Companies with the highest turnover’, ‘Companies with the most increased revenue’, ‘Companies with employment that the most provide’, ‘Companies with the most increasing employment’, ‘Companies with the most profit’, ‘Companies with the most increasing profit’, ‘Companies with the most exporting’, ‘companies with the most increasing export’.

At the ceremony “Lifetime Achievement Award” was given to the former industry minister, Þahap Kocatopçu.

TUPRAS has taken the first place with the 30 billion 404 million 9 thousand liras turnover in the ‘3 Companies with the highest turnover’ category and followed by Petrol Office and Shell&Turkaz companies.

Former minister Kocatopçu, General Manager of TUPRAS Yavuz Erkut, Melih Türker form the top management of Petrol Office and Shell&Turkas Oil Turkey Country Manager Yavuz Erkut’s awards has been given by Nihat Ergün.

Nevertheless Ergün indicated that TUPRAS has been existing on the right side of the house of Izmit and Shell&Petrol Office has been on the left. Also he stated, his father, 3 of his uncle and 2 brothers retired from the Petrol Office.

In the categories of “Companies with the most increased revenue” respectiveley Albayrak Tourism Co., Troy Precious Metals&Trade Inc. and Erciyas Steel Pipe Co. have been awarded. In the “Companies with employment that the most provide” category Türk Telekom, Enka Construction Co. and Sisecam and category of “Companies with the most increase employment” as respectively Oltan Nuts, TAV Tepe Akfen and Assan Alüminyum have been selected. When Turkcell, Türk Telekom and Turkish Airways has been awarded in ‘Companies with the most profit’ category, Vilmeks Trading Co., ETSUN Integrated Agricultural Products Industrial and Commercial Joint Stock Company and Aksa Acrylic Company selected in the categories of “Companies with the most increasing profit” at that night.
