ENKA’s involvement in industrial plant projects dates back to the construction of more than 20 medium and large scale plants in the vicinity of İstanbul in the 1961-1970 period.

From 1970 to 1990, ENKA completed numerous plant construction projects for the steel, paper, fertilizer, chemical, cable and tire industries.

Between 1972 and 1988, ENKA worked with Bilfinger Berger, KHD and Krupp Polysius of Germany, Fives Cail Babcock of France and Kobe Steel of Japan to build a number of cement factories, in Libya, Saudi Arabia, Jordan and Iraq, with an annual capacity totalling 14 million tonnes. ENKA has also built the Messebo Cement Factory in Ethiopia.

ENKA has also constructed several industrial plants in Belarus, Kyrgyzstan and Russia. These include the Tschist Building Materials Production Complex in Belarus, Kumtor Gold Mine Plant in Kyrgyzstan, and Podreskova Ceramic Production Plant, Mars Confectionary Plant, Danone Dairy Product Plant and Fritolay Potato Chips Factory in Russia.

A major industrial plant construction project in Turkey is the Toyota Automobile Factory, built between 1992 and 1994.
